According to BarackObama.ir, Euronews aired video of a meeting of July, 14 2008 in Paris showing Bashar al-Assad conduct towards Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. In the scene, Assad deliberately ends his speech to one of the politicians and avoids Olmert as he shakes hands with others in the raw. Assad accosts Hamad bin Althani, Qatari Emir, who was standing alone, then very corpulent and fat. Olmert greets and hugs Hosni Mubarak, and when Assad moves to his previous place along with King Hamad, Qatari Emir leaves him alone ( probably with the intention that he faces Olmert), Assad returns and evidently defies the Zionist leader, in that background voices reveal that photographers from the press haste not to miss the moment of defiance by Assad.
Syrian news outlets covered the event, and commented ironically on the scene with these:
Mr President, your faults are many… for example, you have defied Israeli prime minister and avoided hugging him like other Arab leaders… Mr. President, you are accused because you did not perform sword dance with George Bush like Salman bin Abdul-Aziz… you are accused because you have not drunk with Sarkozy… and like others, do not own a palace in Tel Aviv.
These media also commented: Mr. President, you are accused, because you are the sole leader among Arab leaders who has academic education; and your fault is that you have always reminded us of Palestine Question and never forgotten it, so we are proud of you.
