The Russian fighter jets, deployed to Humeimim Airbase in Lattakia, have launched reconnaissance flights over terrorists' positions in four provinces to collect fresh information about militants' movements, military sources said Sunday.
"The air traffic at the nearby Humeimim Military Airbase has exponentially increased, as a large number of the planes take off throughout the day," the sources said, adding, "The Russian Air Force has already begun reconnaissance flights over several terrorist-controlled territories in rural Lattakia, Idlib, Aleppo and Hama.

"The Russian Air Force is expected to resume their large-scale aerial campaign over Syria on May 25th," the sources said.

On Friday, the Russian and Syrian Air Forces, in a fresh round of joint combat flights, targeted the concentration centers of the al-Nusra Front and its allies in the Northern part of Homs and the Southern territories of Hama provinces, inflicting major losses on the militants.

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets conducted over 20 airstrikes over the Northern part of Homs province and Southern lands of Hama province, destroying a number of sites of al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham in Hirbnafsa and al-Zara in Hama and Um Sharshouh and al-Rastan in Homs.

Dozes of the militants were killed or wounded in the attacks.
