By comparing three sentences, proportion between crimes and punishments appeared ridiculous to American users.

BarackObama.ir— Social network users in the U.S. have shared a photo which astonished them by the disproportion that exists between crimes and punishments in the U.S.

The photo shows that Kim Schmitz, the founder of Megaupload which is designed to share files regardless of legality and free of charge for most users is facing a 50 years sentence.

This is while Miguel Carano who has murdered, raped and burned Marta Del Castillo has got a 20 years sentence.

Meanwhile staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, who attacked some 24 Iraqi civilians among which 3 women and 6 children, has been sentences after 6 years only to 3 months in prison but finally he was acquitted.

All you need to know about this web page is that it has zero respect for facts since it is sharing these wrong claims without checking the actual facts.

I am yet to find any source of Kim Dotcom/Schmitz prison sentence and considering i'm pretty sure he is yet to be extradited from New Zealand. I think a prison sentence is still a while a way.

Just so we are clear about this, that guy who killed a GIRL, not a woman, didn't burn her to death. And that Schmitz has yet to be sentenced as far as I know.

I think that when you want others to listen to important stuff like this, you need to check the info you publish it first.

It's clearly b/s. Why?

1. Schmitz is so far only accused of a crime and has not been sentenced yet. 50 years isn't even technically possible within jurisdiction. He is in NEW ZEALAND, not in the U.S. at the moment. Even if he will be deported, the maximum penalty he's facing will be 15 years tops, not even close to 50.

2. Carcaño. Maximum sentence in Spain is 20 years. It's the law. Get over it. Many European countries have maximum sentences of 15 years, but can keep people locked in if they still pose a clear and present danger.

3. Poor orders, poor instructions. Soldiers follow orders. Get over it. It's a matter of individual vs. collective guilt, but the U.S. hasn't done itself a service with that kinda sentence.

I don't agree with many of the U.S. positions and military policies, but at least get your facts right and don't try to stir up b/s where there is clearly few reason to do so.
